Chapter 3 Pg 43

So yes, its been a while, but I haven’t been idle. I’ve been building up a backlog so hopefully there will be regular updates. The exact schedule and frequency, I’m not sure, but I’m going for at least once a month, but there could be more. We’ll see how things go. Hopefully this helps ease the back to school blues.

Well X, that looks like it hurt.

It’s a new month! Don’t forget to vote at TWC and help Shifters get back to the front page!

This chapter is going to be a little longer than I intended. I’m kind of figuring its going to go over what I had intended by about 4 pages or 6 pages just to get the pacing right, but I’d rather go a bit long and tell the story well than cut it short for an arbitrary page count in my head.

Next week there won’t be a page however, as Che is going to be on vacation out of town. But I do intend to still draw the page, and maybe we can get some of these bonus updates out of the way. I know updates have been spotty a bit. A lot of it has to do with me working on a really big super-secret project that I can’t talk about yet. Its a paying gig, so I’ve had to put a lot of my free time towards that and frankly its been like working two full time jobs, because I have a day job too and I’m still trying to get con stuff done in between.

There will be a break at the end of this chapter, because frankly I really need it.

Che and I will be both at the Vancouver Comic Arts Festival (VANCAF) on May 25-26 in Vancouver at the end of the month, hopefully with a nice surprise. If you happen to be able to come out, that would be extremely cool! Please drop by our table(s)!  Its free admission and there’s lots of great guests and workshops.

Here’s the page, a little late due to technical difficulties. If you haven’t heard there’s a huge attack on wordpress sites going on right now. So my host locked access to the login of all wordpress sites on their servers and just this afternoon supplied a work around so we could get into our sites. If you or someone you know runs a wordpress site, you should point them at this plugin. I’ve installed it now on this WP blog, and will be installing it on others. So if you are a member of the site and forget your password, do a password recovery before trying to log in too many times. 😛

In other news, congratulations are in order for the marvelous Che! She finally was accepted to her school of choice (after three years of trying very very hard to get in) and will soon be a magnificent and awesome animator of things. This is potentially very exciting. For all sorts of reasons. Yes.

Oopsie. I ment to have this up for last night, but I totally narked on the couch and forgot all about it. I was _very_ tired. But here it is! At long last.

A few things. As Bonu$ commented on the last page, now is a PERFECT time to vote for Shifters on TWC (Topwebcomics.com for those who don’t know) the little blue link button is up there on the top right, just click it and vote, and see if we can’t get a little more exposure. We’ve been hovering round the 250 mark for a while, lets see if we can’t at least push into the 100s. I’d love if we could get to the top 100. I know that usually requires incentive, and I’m thinking on that, but for now, it would be nice to see us get some higher ranking.

Couple of new threads in the forums. Che has started a shipping thread here, and I know there are a least a couple shippers out there reading the comic so go and give her thread some love.

Also got a thread up for some feedback in the RP section. If you are an RPer and are interested in RPing in the Shifters Universe, do check it out and offer your perspective.

Ferrah’s dream steadily unravels. Wolf isn’t giving up though!

So its June 6th, which means its the 1 year anniversary of Shifters relaunch from last year! We’ve finished two chapters and are already well on half way over a third. Lots of old and new folk returned to the site, even if things are a little quiet right now, but I think, at least its certainly something to celebrate, along with me getting a year older. XD We’ve made a lot of great progress this year. Something I hope we can keep up for the upcoming year.

I have to really thank each and everyone of you for coming back and reading Shifters, special thanks to those who have helped support it financially and emotionally. Extra special thanks goes to Mysti, Gorble, Sterling, and D for going above and beyond in your respective areas. Here’s to another great year!

Wolf is such a dork. Ferrah’s dream is about to go south.

Edit: Apparently the last panel is like a rorschach test. People are seeing all sorts of weird stuff. Fingers, cats, etc. It is however, really a closeup of ferrah grabbing her neck (where the blood is), the blanket is still around her shoulders and you see the bottom of her chin there.

This weekend is the Free to attend and first annual Vancouver Comic Arts Festival! I’m going to be at table #44 sharing with Ven Seunnapha of Mind-Crash.net. Look for the Evil Space Cat! There is a full list of exhibitors here. So come and check it out!

A reminder that the Circle contest is now up in the forums, the details are there. You’ll need to sign up for the forums and the site if you haven’t yet in order to be eligible to participate. Also I am now a ‘regular’ now on the Webcomic Beacon Newscast, do go check it out.

Mysti has just made a Tumblr account for Shifters, so if you are into Tumblr, go ahead and follow it. She’ll be posting updates, sketches and stuff, and you can also submit questions.
