Chapter 2 Pg 7

X has very discerning taste in victims. She likes her meals younger and more fresh. I imagine that every vampire has a preference, just like every human has a favorite food or taste.

I’m gonna do a copy pasta here for the latest news about the site, which was posted earlier today in the forums. Did you know we had forums? Well we do dammit. You should join if you haven’t.

So, because of how my schedule is falling right now, I’ve only got Sundays to draw the comic. This means that the art gets colored on Monday, and thus goes up on Tuesday. So for the foreseeable future, updates will happen on Tuesdays, until my schedule gets unfuxored to go back to Mondays. (which I’d prefer).

Secondly, there’s a new rewards program on the site for people who share their love of Shifters with others. The details are here. If you are already registered with the site, you’re ready to go. Just share your personal URL in places where people can follow it (twitter, facebook, tumblr, personal website, IRC, IM, forum signature, email signature, anywhere people can follow the link . Sky is the limit. Really folks. I mean it.), and start earning ‘coins’ to spend in the new digital store. Right now there is a few wallpapers, but there will be more!

We are also testing this (its a beta plugin) so if you run into bugs, or have suggestions, please give them to me so I can pass them on to the developer. If you have suggestions of stuff you want to see in the digital store, please leave them in this thread.

I’d really REALLY like some feedback and your help in testing this stuff, so please post here, or on the forums or send me a twitter, or msg on facebook, anything to let me know what kind of things you’d want to see in the store or ways to improve the coins system.

New Store – Earn Coins, Get Rewards!

So if you look at the top menu, you’ve probably noticed that there’s a new option, The Shifters Online Store! This is a digital downloads store for things like wallpapers, PDFs, and whatever other downloadable content I can think of putting up. While you have the option to buy these things with cash, you can also earn download rewards, just by spreading your love of Shifters!

For anyone registered on the site, if you log in, you’ll see you have a new option on the right hand side of the screen. It says “Your personal link:” and there will be a link there with a bit of extra on the tail end of the URL. That is your personal referral link. If you copy and pasta that somewhere (like your facebook, tumblr, twitter, on your forums where you frequent, personal website, etc), and people click it, you will earn “coins”, which you can spend like cash in the store. So you can earn free downloads from the store, just by spreading Shifters love around. Currently its 15 referrals for 1 coin to spend in the store. Each page has a unique personal URL, so you can use it to refer people to specific pages you want to share, or the newest page, or just the main page if you want. Its up to you and the situation in which you use it.

The plugin is a beta, it may have some weirdness associated with it. So if you do run into any bugs, please let me know. Also, if you have any suggestions on how to make it better, or things you’d like to see in the store, please let me know too.

Unfortunately I don’t have a lot of time or brain power to write a long blog, so I’ll just post the usual stuff that we are on facebook, G+, inkoutbreak, and even Livejournal if you are going oldschool for your comic updates. I also post updates on Deviantart and Furaffinity. If you want updates, subscribe to one of the above, I try to get them all when I update.. at least most of the time.

 

Happy Halloween

I know, I know, its not a full page, but with all the various festivities I’m involved in and a dose of technical fail, its been a bit hard to get a full page finished for this week. Considering I USED to do this and given the spirit of Halloween, I figured you all wouldn’t mind a little eye candy. Can’t give you all the real thing, but I can at least offer a variant. Some people have big Xmases, well my favorite holiday is Halloween. XD

The next page will probably be November 1st, rather than Oct 31, because, as I said, I’m very busy and won’t get time to do the art till Sunday, which means Che will have to color on late sunday/monday and will be posted for Tues morning.

Hopefully we’ll settle back into our regular Monday updates back in here shortly after this little disruption for spooky haunting goodness and stuff.

Ferrah takes revenge for the earlier insult barrage. Yes, that little pink thing over Alice’s head is a heart. Its not as clear here as it was in the line art.

Sorry its a bit late guys, my schedule lately has been killing me, which means Che is getting the artwork later to color. Poor thing busted her ass for this page. Appreciate her!

Kat In Ribbons Filler

Well Vcon is over and con season is winding down. Because of that we got a little time pinched and the page is a bit late. So to tide you over, here is a sexy bit of Kat.

Vcon was alright, we managed to make enough to cover the table and a little extra. The crowd was about bang on for where I thought they would be but there was definitely some learning involved. I’ll do a more complete summary of the cons over at my webcomic blog for the interested.

We’re working to get the next page finished, should be done tues night/wed morning.

Now things should DEFINITELY be getting familiar, if you’ve read the old version, although in the old one I really skipped the details of the dance, which I shant this time. I didn’t realize back then how invaluable the setting of it was for character establishment and exposition. Well none of that glancing over shall happen THIS time.

If you can still stomach facebook since all the UI changes, we have a facebook page you can like. HOWEVER if you are more into Google+ these days, you can follow me on there for updates (shadowsmyst@gmail.com is my email addy, you can also search me under Marie Tary). I’m trying to use it more. If you need an invite, don’t be afraid to hit me up for one. Its MUCH better than facebook in many respects ATM, especially in light of the new UI changes to FB. PLEASE though, shoot me a note if you follow me to one of my posts either a shifters update or one of my posts asking people to ID themselves so I can put you in the right circle.

First official wordy page of the new chapter! We get to see the school and you old time Shifters readers should be getting a pretty strong idea of where things are going now.

Regarding the costume contest, there WAS a winner selected, but I have kept the winner a secret as I do not want to give away who’s suggestion for the costumes won as I’d like it to be a surprise. The winner has been notified and will appear in the upcoming pages. Although if you entered the contest, and didn’t get a notification, please don’t spread it around so people can figure out who won and spoil the surprise.

We got some very amusing submissions for the caption contest (or at least I thought they were funny…) and some are available to see in the forums for the moment. A few will be posted with the rest to a special gallery soon. I’ve just been kind of crazy preparing for Vcon here on Sept 30-Oct 2, in Vancouver.
