And the dream starts to go south. Time in the dream is slightly different than time in the real world. You know, how you can dream faster than the real world actually moves? I know I’ve had dreams where there was half a day in the dream and like 15 mins in the real world.
Despite being less prepared than I wanted to, the Vancouver Comic Festival was good. Shared my table with Ven Seun from Mind-crash.net, who had some lovely prints there. We discovered we share a mutual love of cats. Lots of people attending, many of them newer/casual types to comics. Lots of original material, super creative and awesome people. I did okay. I paid for all my expenses and turned a small profit. I also made several observations which might help me next year.
One of which is that I HAVE to get my stuff into graphic novel format. Period. So that’s going to be a focus now I’m actually approaching the page counts required for a proper GN. Right now we’ve got it at Manga size, and it would probably be around 110-120 pages depending on a few factors. We’ve got ideas for bonuses including some extra pages in a couple of the chapters that don’t appear online, sketches/bonus art, some extra stuff on the kinsmir, maybe some kind of Omake kind of deal at the end of the book. If you have any ideas for what you want to see, there’s a thread in the forums here, or you can leave a comment. For price, right now its kind of floating around $15ish from preliminary estimates, however I’m still looking at printing and how it can be made more affordable.
THE CIRCLE CONTEST CLOSES NEXT WEEK. Contest info is now up in the forums, the details are there. Get your entries in!
Mysti has just made a Tumblr account for Shifters, so if you are into Tumblr, go ahead and follow it. She’ll be posting updates, sketches and stuff, and you can also submit questions.
Here’s the usual reminder that we are on facebook, G+, inkoutbreak, Tumblr, Twitter, and even Livejournal if you are going oldschool for your comic updates. I also post updates on Deviantart and Furaffinity. If you want updates, subscribe to one of the above, I try to get them all when I update.. at least most of the time. Also, please tell your friends about Shifters if you like it! Word of mouth is the best way to show your love of the comic.
